Tim LaHay says Obama isn’t the Antichrist

LaHay’s the guy responsible for those awful Left Behind books (and what’s probably worse, for thereby resurrecting Kirk Cameron’s career).  Apparently he’s looked into his magic eight-ball (or maybe his evil witchcraft crystal ball) and decided Obama isn’t the antichrist.  More about this staggering stupidity here too.  And yes, obviously I shouldn’t read this kind of thing since it gets me all worked up, but in my defense I accidentally followed links.

I’m having trouble taking this seriously, but then again I tend to have trouble taking any of it seriously.  Is this guy an idiot, or onto a good money-spinner, or an anti-Semite and closest racist like the other John Birchers, or does he really believe his own magic-mojo voodoo mumbo-jumbo?

That wasn’t the question.  

Let’s face it, a man who looks like this can’t be loved by god.  Remember those house elves from Harry Potter?

Pervert Porn Pastors

Seems another pastor’s got got caught with bits of himself where they shouldn’t be – in this case in his own hand.  Michael Guglielmucci has been claiming cancer and getting lots of nice donations in order to ‘cover up’ his porn addiction.  Setting aside the whole concept of a porn addiction, what did he need to cover up, exactly?  

And more fun.  There’s some confusion over what’s happening to the money he was given.  Headlines say he’ll give it back, but then you read closely and, oh wait, its going to charity.  Is his church a charity by any chance?  Add to the mix that dad is the boss, and that dad and his church took a week or more to get around to doing anything about this dire confession, and it starts looking like everyone’s winning but the suckers who gave him money in the first place.  (Think about it – they have a big forgiveness prayer-fest and everyone’s sorry, then they hand around the donation plate.)  Fortunately his wife is standing by him.  Isn’t that nice.  And by the way, the ‘porn pastor’ thing is News Corp’s alliteration, not mine.  Someone’s having fun over there.

Must be some pretty good porn, though.  Apparently it made him vomit blood and his hair fall out. 

This the same week as yet more Catholic priest schoolboy abuse is revealed.  It all seems to beg the question: are any of these guys actually not perverts, in some way shape or form, or are there only the ones who’ve been caught and the ones who haven’t?
